E.C. Drury High School opens its doors and Tom Mooney forms Drury’s first wrestling team and Ontario’s first integrated deaf/hearing squad.

Led by veterans Chris Haskill, John Zammit and Kashmir Singh, Drury fights their way out of the Halton basement for the first time.
1984 - 1985
Coach Larry Jaroslawski has former team mate Joe Merritt join the coaching staff.
Brothers Torben and Thomas Jensen as well as Clyde Whidden win gold medals at the Erindale Novice Tournament.
Thomas Jensen (104 lbs ) wins Drury’s first ever Halton Title as the team places 2 behind perennial powerhouse Georgetown.
Jensen caps off an outstanding rookie year by placing 9th at OFSAA, winning gold at both the Ontario Winter Games and the Canadian Cadet Championships and being the first wrestler ever chosen as Drury’s Athlete-of-the-Year.
1985 - 1986
The Jensen brothers, Kevin Bates and Randy Proulx win golds to lead Drury to their first ever tournament team title at W.J. Fenton. The team follows up with team titles at Westdale and the Bishop Ryan Novice Tournament in the following 2 weeks.
Drury claims their first Halton Title by out-pointing White Oaks 163-117. Halton Champs included Dave McKay, Rich Harrison, Doug Herron, Thomas Jensen, Tom Woodward, Clyde Whidden and Steve Brown.
Steve Brown, Thomas Jensen and Steve Lynn win Ontario Cadet titles.
Thomas Jensen repeats as National Cadet Champ and Athlete-of-the-Year while Torben places 6th at National Juniors.
1986 - 1987
Drury wins 1st Annual Drury Invitational outscoring 2nd place Georgetown 110 to 53.
Drury wins second consecutive Halton Title by winning 11 of 15 weight classes.
ECD upsets Bishop Ryan, defending OFSAA Champions at the first` ever GHAC Championships. Gold medal winners included Paul Caries, Thomas Jensen, Tom Woodward and Steve Brown.
Drury makes their mark at OFSAA for the first time as Thomas Jensen places 5th and the team cracks the top 10, placing 9th.
Kirk Rowbottam and Dave McKay win ECD’s first International gold medals in Drury’s first of many trips to Florida.
1987 - 1988
Thomas Jensen starts the year by going 28-0 before his first loss. Kirk Rowbottom at 23-2 and Tom Woodward 24-1 with 21 pins are equally impressive in the early going.
Jensen goes 7-0 to win gold at the Ontario Juniors, Rowbottam wins gold in Cadet. Drury wins the Cadet Greco Team Title.
Drury three-peats as Halton Champs. The Jensen brothers, Woodward, Rowbottam and Randy Proulx win gold.
Thomas Jensen places 4th at OFSAA.
Kirk Rowbottam wins Junior Athlete-of-the-Year.
1988 - 1989
Drury wins the first ever Junior Halton Championships. Gold medal winners include Chris Spence, Jason Madden, Jamie Madden, Sean Savage and Eric Whyte. Colin Widdis, still 5 years away from becoming ECD’s first OFSAA Champ, places 3rd for his first career medal.
Drury makes it 4 in a row at the Haltons as new faces emerge. Dave Wilson, Marcus Henry, Lee Black and John Stevenson become 1st time Halton Champs. Thomas Jensen wins his 5th consecutive Halton Title.
Drury begins the GHAC Tournament with 17 straight wins and regains the title. Brent Pickett, Lee Black , Jensen and Woodward win gold. The win gives ECD the Triple Crown … Junior Haltons, Senior Haltons and GHAC.
Thomas Jensen wins bronze to earn Drury ‘s first OFSAA medal. Tom Woodward ends his career with a 4th place finish.
The Dynamo Wrestling Club is founded.
John Stevenson wins an Ontario Bantam gold medal. Pickett is 2nd.
Sean Savage win silver at the Canadian Cadet Championships. Stevenson places 5th in Bantam.
